Components and Platforms
Universal Data Mover Gateway comprisesthe:
- UDMG Agent Proxy
- UDMG Server
- UDMG Authentication Proxy
- UDMG Admin UI

UDMG Agent Proxy
The Gateway acts as a reverse proxy to hide the internal MFT server from the outside. It also ensures that no data is stored in the DMZ.
A Partner connects to the Gateway to upload and download files to his virtual folders. “Virtual” because the folders are mapped to “real” folders on the UDMG Server. The UDMG Server hosts the Virtual File Transfer Server. For each Business Partner and Protocol, an own virtual server is started.
UDMG Server
The physical files are proxied to the in / out directory of the UDMG Server. New Files on the UDMG Server can be identified using a “classical file monitor” or via the new Universal “Event” Monitor. Each time a file transfer action occurs an Event is generated, which can be used to trigger the Universal “Event” Monitor. UDMG provides the UDMG server for FTP(s), SFTP, and HTTP(s) protocols.
UDMG Authentication Proxy
The UDMG Authentication Proxy is capable to use a LDAP Service to authenticate users for UDMG Admin UI.
UDMG Admin UI
The configuration of the Business Partner and virtual server are done via the UDMG Admin UI, where you can configure:
- The Virtual Server IP & Protocol
- The In and out directory of the MFT Server
- Virtual Folders
- Certificates
- Rules
- Partners
- etc.
Global Keystore
To support PGP UDMG provides also a Global Keystore.
