Create an Ad-hoc File Transfer Link - Web Transfer Client


Step 1

Login to the Web Transfer Client. 

Step 2

From the landing page, double-click on the folder storing the file to be sent via the ad-hoc file transfer link.

Select the file checkbox

Select the Share File icon (Image Modified).

Enter the required fields in the Share File pop-up window. The fields include:

  • Comments: A free-form textbox.
  • Password: An optional password used to open the ad-hoc file transfer link

Please make note of the password since once the password is set it cannot be viewed or changed. 

  • Expires in: Number of days the link will expire in.
    • Select "Never" for no expiration date. 
    • Specific expiration dates can be selected after the link is generated. 
  • Max downloads: Number of downloads of the link allowed. The max downloads field cannot be edited after the link is generated.

Click CREATE LINK button.

Click the copy button and distribute the link as necessary. Click CLOSE to exit out of the pop-up window.

Edit an Ad-hoc File Transfer Link - Web Transfer Client

Ad-hoc file transfers can be edited from the Web Transfer Client and the UDMG Admin UI (see Adhoc Activity for steps).


Step 1

Login to the Web Transfer Client. 

Step 2

From the landing page, select the Environment drop-down and select 

Adhoc

Ad-hoc Activity.

Notes:

The File Size column is in bytes. 

  • Click the Refresh icon (Image Modified) to refresh the page. 
  • To return to the landing page, click the Stonebranch icon (Image Modified) or select Dashboard from the drop-down in the Task bar

Select the ad-hoc file transfer record checkbox of the appropriate file.

Step 4

Use the Task bar icons to Extend, Revoke, and Copy Link to Clipboard.

Note: If the Extend Ad-hoc Transfer field is left empty the link will not have an expiration date.

Accessing the Ad-hoc File Transfer Link


Step 1

Share the ad-hoc file transfer link and password (if added) with the intended users. Share the password separately or via a different method to increase security. 

Step 2

Click the link or copy/paste the link in the browser.

View the Ad-hoc File Transfer Links - UDMG Admin UI

Click on Transfers dashboard from the UDMG Admin UI navigation pane. The Transfers dashboard provides a list of all UDMG file transfers, including ad-hoc file transfers

To edit an ad-hoc file transfer link, use the Task bar icons to Extend, Revoke, Copy Link to Clipboard, and Refresh the record.
