Introduction

This information is specific to Universal Connector for PeopleSoft (UPPS) UNIX-based operating systems.

Usage

Universal Connector for PeopleSoft for UNIX executes as a command line application.

Each command line execution contains:

  1. Universal Connector for PeopleSoft command (and argument).
  2. Configuration options (required and optional) associated with program execution, not with specific commands.
  3. Configuration options associated with the specified command.

Each execution of Universal Connector for PeopleSoft performs an operation specified by the command. The configuration options describe information / actions for that operation.

Command Line Syntax

The following figure illustrates the command line syntax of Universal Connector for PeopleSoft for UNIX.

upps {CANCEL | DELETE | DISPLAY | HOLD | START | SUBMIT | WAIT}HOST USER [COMMAND FILE | INFORMATIONAL | INSTALLATION | LOCAL | MESSAGE | SSL] [Command-Specific Options]

The names enclosed in {BRACES} (for example, /wiki/spaces/UA71x/pages/2655661) identify command groups. For each execution of upps, a single command is specified from one of these groups. One or more configuration options associated with each command also can be used to specify additional information / actions for the execution. See /wiki/spaces/UA71x/pages/2655661 for detailed information on the commands, and their associated configuration options, in each command group.

The names not enclosed in {BRACES} or [BRACKETS], /wiki/spaces/UA71x/pages/2654739 and /wiki/spaces/UA71x/pages/2654743, identify categories of configuration options that are associated with program execution and from which one or more configuration options are required. The names enclosed in [BRACKETS] (for example, /wiki/spaces/UA71x/pages/2654731} identify categories of configuration options that are associated with program execution and from which options are not required. See /wiki/spaces/UA71x/pages/2666967 for detailed information on configuration options associated with program execution, not with one or more commands.

The /wiki/spaces/UA71x/pages/2654755 are configuration options associated with one more more Commands and which are not required.
