Universal Controller 6.2.1.0 (October 31, 2015) Release Notes
Enhancement of Web Service API
The RESTful Web Services API of the Universal Controller was extended with additional functionality. It now supports create, read, update, and delete functionality for more task types, calendars,
and custom day definitions. Over the next few releases, we plan to further expand the RESTful Web Services API capabilities.
Scheduled Reports
To allow delivery of Universal Controller reports via email, you can now attach a report to an email task or email action. This allows delivery of reports based on a schedule or event. Reports are
delivered as email attachments in pdf or image format.
Usability Improvements
Some small but nonetheless positive changes are visible in this product release. For instance, opening a list from the Navigator results, by default in a new tab. Moreover, we have included the
System Identifier for the browser tab title in order to easily differentiate between Universal Controller instances (for example, production and test environment). Configuration options for this feature
have been added to the system and user properties. Also, Record Details data tabs now display an indicator when the tab contains data.
Built-in Function Enhancements
Built-in functions now allow nesting to two levels. That is, a function can be an argument to another function, which itself can be an argument to another function. In addition, this release supports
new Conditional and Date functions.
Bundle and Promote Features
Bundles can now be created by Business Service. This enables users to create and promote bundles for a specific business service. For instance, the IT department can manage promotion of
scheduling objects related to the accounting department of their organization.
Additional Timer Task and Task Delay Options
We have enhanced our Timer Task and Task Delay options to include a Timer Day Constraint. This removes the constraint of only honoring the next occurrence of the specified time.
Available options are:
- None: Waits for the next occurrence of the specified time.
- Same Day: Specifies that if the time has already passed, the delay condition is met.
- Next Day / Next Business Day / Specific Day of Week: Will meet the delay condition at the specified time on the relevant day.
