zOS Attributes for Allocating Temporary Data Sets when Copying Load Modules - UDM


The following table lists the z/OS attributes that can be used for allocating temporary data sets when copying load modules via the copy (Copy) command.
 

Attribute Name

Description

TMPVOLSER

Sets the volume on which temporary files will be allocated:

  • On the source side: specifies the location of the temporary sequential data set that will be transferred.
  • On the destination side: specifies the volume for the temporary transfer file as well as the volume used by the temporary staging PDS/E.

TMPPRIMSPACE

Specifies the amount of primary space used when allocating the temporary files.

  • On the source side: Affects the temporary sequential data set that will be transferred.
  • On the destination side: Used in allocating the temporary transfer file and the temporary staging PDS/E.

TMPSECSPACE

Specifies the amount of secondary space used when allocating the temporary files.

  • On the source side: Affects the temporary sequential data set that will be transferred.
  • On the destination side: Used in allocating the temporary transfer file and the temporary staging PDS/E.

TMPSPACEUNIT

Specifies the space unit used when allocating the temporary files.

  • On the source side: Affects the temporary sequential data set that will be transferred.
  • On the destination side: Used in allocating the temporary transfer file and the temporary staging PDS/E.

TMPDIRBLOCKS

Specifies the number of directory blocks used.

  • On the source side: n/a.
  • On the destination side: specifies the number of directory blocks used by the staging PDS/E.
