Like the Taskboard, Tasks are sortable by column. In this configuration, you can choose from Name, Business Services, Summary, and Last Run. The default sort order is by Name. You can customize which columns to display by clicking the rightmost icon in the top row of the table:

Task Commands

Although you cannot modify or delete Tasks in Universal Portal, there are several actions you can perform from My Tasks. To access the command menu for a Task, click the three-dot icon at the end of the row: Image Added

You can then perform any of the following actions from this context menu:

Viewing Task Details

To view the details of a Task, simply click on the Task name.

The volume of information shown in the Details page can vary depending on the Task Type. The layout differs from the Task Details shown in the Controller, but the fields are logically grouped and can be easily navigated by clicking the menu options from the box in the top left.

If a the Task is part of a workflow, upstream/downstream dependencies will also be identified.

Launching Tasks

Tasks can be launched from My Tasks by selecting the Launch Now action in the command menu at the end of the row, you will see a three-dot icon.

Here you will see a list of commands that are applicable to the task definition. They do not change based on the task type.

With Launch, it will launch the task (more details below).

View (in UC) is experimental and will be removed before release

Show in Taskboard brings you to the taskboard, with a filter of all previous task instances relating to that task definition.

Launching Tasks

Select the three-button icon then select “Launch Now”

A confirmation dialog will come up, if you wish to continue launching the task click “Confirm”, the other option is to cancel.

You will then be prompted with this screen, which gives you the option to go to the Dashboard (which will be renamed to Taskboard).

There is currently an option to copy the system identifier, which has limited value for a citizen automator. That will be removed.

The other option is to close and return to the Task screen.

Launching Tasks with Variables

Following the same launch instructions as above, should a task have variables which need resolution before submission, you will be prompted for the variable values.

After clicking Launch Now, you will be asked to confirm the launch. After launching the Task, a popup will appear announcing that the launch was successful. You can also see the System Identifier of the Task Instance. From here, you have the option to view the Instance in the Taskboard (which functions the same as the Show in Taskboard command), or close the popup and return to the current page.

Launching Tasks with Variables

If a Task has Variables which must be resolved before launch, you will be prompted to provide values for these Variables.

There is not a separate command to launch a Task with Variables. Simply click Launch Now, as described in the previous section, and you will be taken to this page automatically if Variables are needed.

Give each Variable a value. You will also be prompted for Reason for Launch. Once you submit the variable values, you can select the Launch Task button. Image RemovedJust like launching Tasks without variables, you will be asked to confirm the launch.
