Overview

My Tasks is a list of tasks that a user is authorized to view and launch.

Task Instances are sortable by column  in this configuration: Task, Business Services, Last Update, Type, and Status. The default sort order is by Last Update. You can customize which columns to display in the Activity List by clicking the rightmost icon in the top row of the table:

Viewing Task Details

Task Details can be very significant depending on the task time in terms of the volume of information presented in each task.

The layout is different than in UAC to try and more logically group fields.

If a Task is Part of a workflow, it will identify any upstream/downstream dependencies.

Task details can also be navigated by either scrolling, or selecting one of the menu options to the left of the task name.

By clicking on G. Schedule Evaluation, it will automatically move there, while clicking on A. Linux/Unix Task will return you to the top. You can of course, scroll naturally.

In Task Details you have the same options of issuing commands as you did in Task Instances.

Task Commands

For each row, at the end of the row, you will see a three-dot icon.

Here you will see a list of commands that are applicable to the task definition. They do not change based on the task type.

With Launch, it will launch the task (more details below).

View (in UC) is experimental and will be removed before release

Show in Taskboard brings you to the taskboard, with a filter of all previous task instances relating to that task definition.

Launching Tasks

Select the three-button icon then select “Launch Now”

A confirmation dialog will come up, if you wish to continue launching the task click “Confirm”, the other option is to cancel.

You will then be prompted with this screen, which gives you the option to go to the Dashboard (which will be renamed to Taskboard).

There is currently an option to copy the system identifier, which has limited value for a citizen automator. That will be removed.

The other option is to close and return to the Task screen.

Launching Tasks with Variables

Following the same launch instructions as above, should a task have variables which need resolution before submission, you will be prompted for the variable values.

You will also be prompted for Reason for Launch. Once you submit the variable values, you can select the Launch Task button.
