In this tutorial, you will:

  • Configure a directory to be accessible for upload by the UDMG Web Transfer Client user

  • Login to the UDMG Web Transfer Client

  • Browse to the virtual space that is allowed for the user

  • Download a file

  • Login to the UDMG Admin UI

  • Monitor the file transfer


Step 1

Login to UDMG Admin UI and create a Send rule

  • In the Rule Name field, enter WebUser_send.

  • In the Direction field, select Send.

  • In the Path Directory field, enter out, this is the virtual path that is shown on the UDMG Web Transfer Client.

  • In the Local Directory field, enter WebUser.

  • In the Remote Directory field, leave it empty.

  • In the Temp Directory field, leave it empty.

Press the Save button.

Step 2

Authorize the rule for the user. This enable the WebUser to access the out folder for uploading files.

Step 3

  • Open the UDMG Web Transfer Client login page

  • Fill in the Username, Password, and the Captcha code

  • Press the LOGIN button

Step 4

The user home space is displayed, showing the out virtual folder:

Double click on the out folder to visit that location

Step 6

The content of the folder is displayed with the current path on top:

Select a file and press the Download button. The same can be performed with the right-click context menu on the file item.

Step 7

The download of the file is initiated and the progress panel is shown minimized at the bottom of the window.

Step 8

Click on the panel to expand it.

The progress is displayed for each file:

Step 10

The file transfer is registered on UDMG and can be monitored with UDMG Admin UI during the download in the Transfer Activity list
